Aww, I thought this would be a chill episode of sakura tree petals with Maple hanging out with her friends. Yet, we also got some action with her party.

It's kinda funny how Maple takes everything so casually, even eating a cloud. Still, this is Maple we're talking about and she makes everything look so easy.

Maple's adventure finally begins, after the first premiere. Kasumi has taken on an interesting form. It was the loli version of Kasumi, lol. Despite having a strong buff, it turns out that Kasumi has to turn into a loli as an effect. After doing some grinding, is this the first time Maple has caught a fever? but yeahhh after recovering Maple immediately logged in. There Maple met the boss in the form of a white-haired grandpa. Maple took out the mecha + syrup skill but the grandpa could still hold it with one hand. Grandpa is very strong, even though he uses Hydra, Maple still can't beat Grandpa.

This was the first time I saw Maple being cornered. Maple used the tactic of pretending to lose and then launched a ball-shaped kamehameha. It seemed to be effective enough to defeat Grandpa. Even though Grandpa was hit hard by Maple. I was quite surprised that Grandpa was still alive.

After the battle, Maple was given a banquet, it was a delicious fish dish. There Maple met Payne's party, but I didn't see Payne there, it seems they planned to make a temporary party and take advantage of Maple's angel / tenshi form. it's a nine-tailed fox.

As usual Maple always does things beyond reason. I like May and Yui scene. They both went on an adventure with Maple by riding Syrup, I like the soundtrack used. Fighting jellyfish seems to be quite easy for Maple's party. Sally was very confident at first, but yeahhh it teleported them to the ghost world. Sally is still afraid of ghosts, lol. Lisaaa Kawaiii....

In the end Maple investigated, Sally got news about the latest skills but yeahhh it seems like fighting ghosts is quite difficult. By using the blindfold, Sally planned to use it. Maple and Sally went together to take the skill. But yeah!.... Sally is still scared of ghosts. Sally is so cute <3

It was an abandoned castle, lol. Together with Maple, Sally was led to show the location of the skill that Sally meant.  Using a transform mecha, Maple carried Sally into the palace. but with a mysterious hand, the two of them were teleported to the banquet hall.

It was a scary palace, even in this palace, players could not log out and had to leave the domain first. Sally has amazing speed, even Sally can go around the palace that fast, lol. Even though he had to hide behind a cupboard, Maple could easily find Sally. With monster and angel skills.

It seemed like ghosts had a weakness. The ghost couldn't get close to Maple because Maple was using Angel mode.

In the end, the skill that Sally wanted was successfully obtained, what a creepy episode, lol.

It was expected to see more action this time.

This place looked really awesome!

Mapple, Syrup, Yui, and Mai are so cute. ^^

Mapple eating that cloud was hilarious.

I loved that umbrella scene.

Poor Sally, lol.

The episode felt so rushed, tbh.
New episode = a new uber skill from Maple. lmao... I really feel bad for Sally. The sixth level is truly a nightmare for her.

It's so like Maple to beat the wrong boss and get another op skill. On top of that she got another weird skill again. Also it was funny watching Sally freak out.

Sally's nerves where fried during the haunted house, to at least she tried to overcome some of her fear in order to get a new skill.
Maple not being there because she was sick was sad for her, she still got the boss in the end tho even if she started of with the wrong one.
Kasumi's new skill and the side effects being exposed was also funny to watch.

Wow, they breezed through the fifth floor quite quickly, and are already in the meat of the sixth floor, a very haunted looking floor, which Sally is obviously not fond of. Quite a rushed episode, but still entertaining as Maple just destroying everything is hilarious.

Talk about two very different levels in the game. Going from light up in the clouds to grim haunted mansion. It sucks that Maple couldn't enjoy the fifth level because she got sick. Very cool fight with that Oni boss, the animation so far this season has looked incredible even better than the first season. Maple had to use all her most powerful skills to beat that boss just for him to not even be the way to that new level. Fighting the actual boss to the next level was easy after she got that Oni skill though. Unlucky that the admins decided to launch the sixth level right after Maple finally made it to the fifth. She did get that nice throne skill from the boss fight she handled with May and Yui. Sally being afraid of the horror themed level was so funny. I laughed a lot at her running circles around that mansion scared out of her mind. Maple to trying her best to calm Sally down but nothing working until the monsters run after some other players. Sally will just have to wait for the next new level like she said.

I think I mentioned it during first season, but I don't like how this anime devolved into Maple getting yet another broken skill. Her maxing out DEF stat was supposed to be the theme here, no? Still, I'll admit that this ogre skill is at least nice, especially compared to the weird transformations.

I don't know what's the plan for the rest of story, but they sure are rushing through those levels. It's a bit of shame, that cloudy one looked fun.

Lol sally just like me, I would’ve been running for my life thru that haunted house. That’s cool that Maple is such a good friend tho to stay with her through the level and after by staying on the phone with her. Really cute.

And another broken skill for Maple lol she’s really racking them up

It just has to be coincidental that everyone but Maple is around to clear Level 4, but said guildmaster herself has to brave through the same level alone to reach Level 5, fighting a boss which she defeats with much difficulty. Sadly, the boss she faced isn't the way to reach Level 5, and gets stuck with Frederica and her guild members on Level 4, her newfound Pandemonium skill is so OP enough that literally she didn't need any form of help at all.

Reaching Level 5 with Yui and May, facing tough bosses and gaining new skills along the way, the implementation of Level 6 is just a matter of time. And it's a horror zone that Risa/Sally is most afraid of and cannot stand, but the risk and rewards are high that she decides to do so, but only with a companion like Maple. The rewards hidden in a Western-style mansion that's all sorts of creepy, and as much as Sallu abhors it, there is no direction but in to finish this leg of the Level whilst succumbing to the horror. Unfortunately, getting warped and not being able to log out are the two worst combinations for a scaredy cat like Sally, and she has to stick very close to Maple to get the job done. And it seems that this mansion is just too much for Sally, but at least she earns a new skill out of sheer horror and is able to log out like normal.

Even at home, Risa feels like she's walking on eggshells to talk to Kaede while calming herself down.

Maple gets more broken, while Sally just couldn't overcome her fears.

Maple was quick to show her new skill off to people she could be enemies with again in the near future, she was better at hiding skills last season. Felt like we missed out on a level since Maple did, they really do speed through these new places and it feels like a lost opportunity to not build stories in each new place. Still not a bad episode, honestly in a very realistic VR I wouldn't handle scary things well like Sally so I can't blame her.

While the pacing still remains a little on the fast side (although skipping the OP to cover more material is welcome every now and then), I still had good fun watching Maple trying to make up for lost time after she caught a cold which stopped her from playing for a while.

In typical fashion, she ended up mistaking another tough boss as a floor boss as she made her attempt to get to the fifth floor, which she did eventually, and the floor itself was rather picturesque and pretty. =)

Later on, the whole gang got to the sixth floor, which had a haunted theme to it....

...also known as Sally's weakness! XD

I do love Sally to bits, but I had so many moments laughing my backside off as she screamed every minute or so, which was made more apparent when she and Maple went to a haunted house for an upgrade. Bonus points for a small bath scene with her at the end of the episode. =P

The ED song was pretty pleasant to listen to, paired up with some nice visual animation. Very good overall, I must say! =)

Another great episode of one of the best Iseka anime (not that there are many good ones).
Yes, the pacing is a bit on the fast side again, but it will likely slow down a bit in the upcoming episodes.
Either way, I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Not really liking how fast they are going with s2.  The first episode was bad enough, where they sped through literally the equivalent of 2 LN volumes.

Now we come to episode 2, and they spend what, maybe 3 minutes on the battle with the Oni chief.  That was one of the most iconic battles of the source material, and I expected at least close to an entire episode covering it, and instead focused on a minor scene with the horror house (and didn't even really cover that either).  Not only that, but she made no mistake in the source material, as she purposefully went after the Oni Lord as no one, not even Payne, had been able to defeat him.

They keep going this fast, and they'll outpace the WN well before they come to the end of s2.

so sad

I Agree, the pace in these first 2 episode is really too fast, it even makes the duration of the episodes seem shorter, but I could watch hours and hours of this series.

P.S. After 2 episodes we still haven't seen the new opening...

Man the pacing is fast af. They're already on floor 6!? They only reach floor 4 in the previous episode right? Still a fun episode though, Maple gets a couple new op skills, the twins get one they can't even use and Sally manages to get one from the haunted mansion. I kinda expected Sally to carry her around on the throne so it's not just a worse version of the angel one but oh well.

Pretty decent episode!!

Maple the type of person to defeat the wrong boss who is harder to beat than the normal floor boss and get another weird skill to go along with it. She can now summon some type of demon army which horrified Frederica and co. She also got another op healing throne thing, not really surprised lol.

The haunted mansion was pretty funny with Sally fully bricking it, but she obtained a new skill at the end, but at what cost :)

So, I'm going into this with some of the source material already read. In said source material, this part of the story felt rushed to me. I was hoping the anime could've done a better job on it.

But somehow, the anime made it feel even more rushed. There are plenty of details in the end of level 4 and entirety of level 5 in the source material that aren't even mentioned in this episode. It turns out, reserving just half an episode to all of that doesn't quite work out.

But, I feel it's unfair to judge an anime solely on how it's adapted. Changes have to be made, and I understand this. So, as a standalone thing, how do I think of it?

Well, I still feel like the beginning is a bit rushed. Things go by a bit too fast; it doesn't give the viewer enough time to process. However, the second half of the episode--the venture into the haunted house--was pretty well done I thought. It's definitely approached in the comedic light that Bofuri does quite well.

Main source is the Web Novel, and I do recommend it as it contains so much more detail, as well as arcs that they completely skipped over in the first two episodes of s2.  S1 of the anime was pretty faithful to the WN.

They do have LN & manga, as well.  The manga looks like it hasn't gotten to the end of s1 yet and is also on the lower end of art quality.  The LN, which I plan to start reading shortly, looks like it's just broken past the end point of s1.

I think pacing is bit too fast unless there is something important there to be honest that's not something to mind . This anime is kind of random and Maple get OP skills as usually.
Rather they pick up from web novel I think they do it from light novel that aren't that much on detail as web novel.

Poor Sally but at least you got skill you want.
It is not like I am good with horror but not on extreme level as Sally.
It kind of scary you wouldn't be able to log out until you escape the mansion.

Sad to hear that they are skipping stuff (breezing through 3 floors in two episodes is just such a change from S1), but I really enjoyed what the anime did show this episode. Poor Sally, phobias are the worst! Glad Maple was there to help :P (the scene where Maple's watching Sally blitz around the map in a panic, while she's just gliding along as Machine God, cracked me up)

When Payne's crew introduced their newbies, I didn't recognize them until the "trio attack". It's nice to see those guys from the first PVP event again! This show always makes me laugh.

Well that felt a bit rushed. They basically skipped over the entirety of the cloud layer and the layer before it. While those were fairly short even in the novel, they weren't so short that they could do both of them in one episode and still have time for the haunted mansion. I'm going to guess that they're rushing to get to the tower arc and will invest most of the time in this season there since that's going to be quite involved.

funny moment when Sally is being chased. Also, she did not realize the last hands outside the mansion only want to give her the prize. lol
